San Leo
Just a few kilometres from Cesenatico stands another hill top town on a rock. Its characteristic features make it a unique place in the world. Also known as Montefeltro, the small town is only accessible via a road that has been excavated in the rock. The cathedral is a must as it is a marvellous example of Romanic architecture, as well as the fifteenth century fort, which clings to the highest spur of rock. This is where Count Cagliostro died after spending a long time in prison.

The ancient capital of the Western Roman Empire, Ravenna has preserved an art heritage that is a veritable treasure. The architecture of the baptisteries, the basilicas and the mausoleums – and especially the rich art heritage in the museums – are unique in the art field. The regional Park of the Vena del Gesso (the Chalk Vein) harbours a veritable jewel, one of the most beautiful hill top towns in our peninsula: Brisighella, an ancient Medieval town in the province of Ravenna. The hill top town, which dates back to the 13th century, is located on a rock and is surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes. If you are travelling with your family or if you are looking for a small corner of paradise surrounded by mountains, Brisighella will welcome you with its typical narrow streets, its wonderful examples of religious architecture, and the friendliness of its inhabitants.
